Don’t go for an all or nothing approach when it comes to fitness. Even if you can’t fit in thirty minutes of exercise every day, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bother trying at all. Even if you can only get your thirty minutes in once a week, it’s better than nothing. You can always work up to more workouts as time goes on.

Keep track of your walking throughout the day. You would be surprised at how many steps you take or don’t take. Set a daily goal, and stick to it. Ideally, you should take about 10,000 steps each day. At the end of the day, write down the number of steps you took. If you didn’t achieve your goal, write down why.

Fitness

In order to truly commit to a fitness program, you need to change your attitudes and beliefs about fitness. You need to be willing to work hard, even when you’re feeling tired or lazy. Only if you are willing to make solid, lasting changes will you able to make fitness a part of your life.

Nutrition

Make sure you are eating enough. Your body requires fuel. Your body especially requires fuel when you are working out. To keep in shape, you need to be getting the proper nutrition. Being fit does not mean eating less. If anything, you might find yourself eating more. Just make sure you are eating healthy.

So don’t beat yourself up for missing a workout or eating a doughnut. The big picture is to be active in your fitness program consistently, but occasionally, give yourself a break from routine. Skipping a day of exercise and allowing yourself to eat dessert is normal. Just don’t let it become routine.
